What makes our leadership programmes unique?

How we define leadership

For us, a leader isn’t just a politician or a CEO; we go beyond formal definitions of leadership. A leader can be any woman at any stage of her leadership journey, whether she is still in school, progressing up the career ladder, raising a family, or transitioning to a new sector.

Our Leadership Model

The 7 Leadership Dimensions grew out of a review of some of the strongest leadership programmes globally- such as Acumen, Ashoka, the Center for Creative Leadership, and others. Our intention was to draw from the best available models and adapt them to Wedu’s context. We wanted a framework that went beyond focusing only on entrepreneurs or advocates, and instead created a balanced blend most relevant to every woman. At the core, we grounded the model in action: leadership as behaviours, which can be observed and measured. For us, you’re a true leader if you are taking action, making change, influencing outcomes, and mobilising others. Each dimension therefore reflects concrete behaviours we want to see in practice, ensuring the model is both practical and transformative
