Our mission is to unlock the leadership potential of women in Asia by providing lifelong mentorship and innovative financing options to complete higher education and become change-makers in their communities.
Wedu works with local NGOs, educational institutions, and individuals based in communities across Asia who act as Talent Spotters, identifying young women who demonstrate strong leadership potential throughout Asia, with a preference for women from underserved communities.
Upon acceptance to the Wedu Leadership Development Program, young women (‘Rising Stars’) receive lifelong mentoring from a committed mentor, guided by a specially developed Mentorship Curriculum that enables them to establish clear goals of social change and develop their personal and professional leadership potential to realize these goals.
Wedu also provides innovative financing options for Rising Stars to complete their university education in Asia. With scholarship grants and the Future Income Sharing Agreements (FISAs), Rising Stars receive guidance and planning support to choose the type of financial support that is most suitable for their future goals.
As our Rising Stars graduate and become leaders within their communities, they are encouraged to give back by becoming mentors to the next generation of Rising Stars. Through FISAs, Wedu leverages income-based contributions to finance the education of even more Rising Stars, contributing to a sustainable force for the advancement of high potential women across Asia.
We believe that investment in women’s leadership not only empowers women, but also has a multiplier effect on improving the development of communities and countries as a whole.
