Wedu and Institut Nasional Flores (INF) Partner to Advance Women’s Leadership in Climate Action

Wedu and Institut Nasional Flores (INF) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to support women students in Indonesia to complete their higher education and grow as future leaders driving climate-resilient and sustainable development. This collaboration marks an important step in Wedu’s regional effort to expand educational and leadership opportunities for women across South and Southeast Asia.

INF’s Commitment to Sustainable Development

INF, a higher education institution based in East Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia, is dedicated to developing practical solutions for sustainable rural development. In a province where nearly 80% of households depend on rain-fed farming, communities face growing challenges from unpredictable rainfall and extreme weather.

INF’s undergraduate programmes in Agricultural Science, Fisheries Science, and Animal Husbandry equip students with the skills to build sustainable livelihoods and resilient communities. Through these programmes, INF channels education into climate-responsive development—strengthening local economies, food systems, and environmental resilience.

Supporting Women Leaders in Climate Action

Aligned with Wedu’s Strategic Priorities 2025–2027, this partnership brings together two mission-led organisations committed to sustainability, community transformation, and women’s leadership development. Through this collaboration, selected women students at INF will have access to Wedu’s Income Sharing Agreement (ISA) programme, which removes financial barriers to higher education.

The ISA model enables graduates to contribute a small portion of their income once employed, creating a revolving fund that supports future generations of women learners. ISA participants will also gain access to Wedu’s Introduction to Leadership course, personalised mentorship, and a lifelong leadership community dedicated to continuous growth and collective impact.

A Shared Vision for Transformative Change

This partnership recognises that when women lead, the impact multiplies across families, industries, and ecosystems. Studies show that women’s leadership in agriculture and climate action not only increases productivity but also strengthens food security and community resilience.

Wedu and INF share a vision of nurturing women leaders who are driving sustainable solutions for the future of Indonesia and the broader South and Southeast Asian region. Together, they are investing in education, leadership, and collaboration as powerful levers for lasting change.
