Our 2025-2029 Re-focused Strategy

At Wedu, we believe in a world where half of all leaders are women. Our 2025–2029 Re-focused Strategy builds on over a decade of learning, innovation, and regional collaboration to strengthen how we invest in women leaders across South and Southeast Asia.

In a snapshot: Investing holistically in women leaders through Capability, Capital, and Community

Across South and Southeast Asia, women continue to face structural barriers that limit access to education, leadership opportunities, financial resources, and supportive networks. These challenges are further intensified by the climate polycrisis, which disproportionately impacts women’s livelihoods, education pathways, and futures.

When Wedu first launched its 2025–2027 Strategy, we recognised the importance of remaining adaptive, reflective, and willing to evolve alongside the realities women leaders face. Through an iterative strategic planning process grounded in learning, experimentation, and reflection, we refined our approach to better respond to emerging challenges and opportunities across the region.

Wedu’s 2025–2029 Re-focused Strategy builds on these learnings by deepening our commitment to holistic investment in women leaders through three interconnected strategic priorities:

  • Capability: Equipping women with the confidence, skills, and mindset to lead and thrive
  • Capital: Expanding access to education and career opportunities through innovative financing
  • Community: Building lifelong mentorship, peer learning, and feminist leadership ecosystems

Through programmes including Introduction to Leadership (ITL), Women Rising for Climate Resilience, Income Sharing Agreements (ISAs), and regional mentorship initiatives, Wedu is strengthening women’s access to decisional, financial, social, and dream capitals.

Our re-focused strategy also strengthens Wedu’s long-term sustainability through a continued commitment to financial resilience, care-centred organisational culture, and collaborative governance.

Wedu’s strength lies in our regional focus, community-driven programmes, and the belief that women leaders thrive when they are supported holistically. We are not only addressing barriers- we are learning, adapting, and co-creating more just, resilient, and equitable futures together.
