Women Rising for Climate Resilience

Women are already leading efforts towards a climate-resilient Asia.

We are here to make sure they have everything they need.

Women Rising for Climate Resilience is an eight-week programme equipping emerging women leaders across South and Southeast Asia with the tools, knowledge, and community to take climate action in their own communities and workplaces.

Applications for Cohort 2 are now closed.

Who we are

Across South and Southeast Asia, women are at the frontline of climate change. They are also at the frontline of the response: protecting ecosystems, rebuilding after disasters, designing solutions for their communities, advocating for change.

This shows up everywhere. In classrooms, clinics, offices, and community halls. Women across every sector carry a deep sense of responsibility for their communities and the world they are leaving behind.

But caring is not enough. Turning that passion into sustained, strategic climate leadership takes tools, knowledge, and the right environment to grow.

That is what Women Rising is here to provide.

Who this is for

Women Rising is for emerging women leaders across South and Southeast Asia who are motivated to act on climate,  in any sector, at any level.

You do not need a background in climate science. You need to be a woman who sees what is happening in your community and wants to do something about it. Teachers, health workers, community organisers, social entrepreneurs, and advocates have all found their place here.

If you are ready to lead, this programme is ready for you.

Why apply

The future of climate leadership is here.

The programme is a doorway, not a destination.

What comes next

Graduates are invited into mentorship, alumni circles, and ongoing partnership opportunities. And every graduate can join the Climate Alliance for Women Leaders in Asia (CAWLA), Wedu’s regional network of women climate leaders and our allies, to keep connecting, collaborating, and building momentum.

Voices of the region

The next cohort is open and in just one week, over 300 women across Asia have stepped forward to lead climate action.

Places are limited. Applications close on 20 July 2026 (Monday), 9:00 a.m. ICT.

From the first cohort

In October 2025, 21 women from 10 countries completed the first cohort. They came in as leaders. They left with sharper tools and a clearer direction.

“I came in thinking I had to have all the answers. This course taught me that climate leadership is not about being an expert. It is about being willing to listen, learn and take action in my own context. And I can do that.”

81% said they felt significantly more confident as climate leaders by the end. All of them left with a plan.
