Nyein Nyein Htet Aung’s caregiving spans over a decade, bridging personal, professional, and community spheres—even across borders and crises. Her work and life are united by a single principle: showing up with consistency, compassion, and resilience, especially in times of uncertainty. Connection to the Leadership in Care Award Nyein Nyein exemplifies the Leadership in Care Award through her unwavering commitment to supporting others in every area of her life. From mentoring colleagues and young women to nurturing her family and community, her leadership demonstrates that care is central to creating lasting impact. Mobilising Change In her professional life, Nyein Nyein has used her HR leadership roles to advocate for trauma-informed policies, support staff through conflict, and mentor young people—especially women—via programmes such as Insider Tips for Rising Talents and as a Wedu mentor. As co-founder of Women Transforming Myanmar until 2022, she helped build a supportive network for women leaders and small business owners. Even after relocating to Thailand, she continues to mentor and uplift others while balancing life as a mother of a four-year-old daughter and supporting her husband’s income-generating initiatives. Following her father’s passing, Nyein Nyein supported her mother in rebuilding her business—which earned the Resilient Women SME Award 2022—and continues to help fund her younger sister’s education in Thailand. Her personal caregiving blends practical support with deep relational care, fostering growth, resilience, and opportunity within her family. Beyond her immediate circle, Nyein Nyein runs a small personal charity, sewing and donating newborn clothes and swaddles to refugee mothers, bringing comfort, dignity, and essential support at critical moments. Why Nyein Nyein Stands Out Nyein Nyein’s leadership demonstrates that caregiving is inseparable from impact. By consistently showing care—for family, colleagues, and communities—she cultivates resilience, connection, and hope. Her work proves that even small, often invisible acts of care can have profound and lasting effects across lives and communities. Her approach is grounded in sustainability: mindful routines, quiet mornings, cycling, and leaning on her network of friends and colleagues help her remain energised and focused, ensuring her leadership can continue to flourish. Nyein Nyein Htet Aung’s story reminds us that care is a form of leadership—practical, relational, and transformative across work, family, and community.
