Stuti Mishra: Finalist for the Leadership in Care Award

We are delighted to announce Stuti Mishra from India, as a finalist for the 2025 Wedu Women’s Leadership Awards in the Leadership in Care Award category.

Stuti’s journey in caregiving is both deeply personal and profoundly professional, shaped by loss, empathy, and a commitment to community. In 2025, she provided end-of-life care to her father, a revered figure in the Indian fine arts community. This involved hospital visits, practical support, and the emotional labour of accompanying him through his final days. Following his passing, Stuti has been preserving his artistic legacy—curating decades of his work, engaging with art networks, and organising materials—while also holding space for her own grief. Her caregiving extends beyond physical support to emotional stewardship: for herself, her community, and her father’s vision.

Connection to the Leadership in Care Award

Stuti embodies the Leadership in Care Award through her ability to integrate empathy and strategy in all aspects of life. Whether supporting family, mentoring youth, or advocating for marginalised communities, her leadership demonstrates that care is central to creating meaningful, lasting impact.

Mobilising Change

With over a decade of experience in the social impact and nonprofit sectors, Stuti has designed and implemented programmes supporting youth, women, and vulnerable communities across India. Her initiatives include community mental health programmes, PAN India support helplines, and safe spaces for dialogue around gender, mental health, and reproductive rights. Partnerships with institutions such as the Ministry of Communications and Google show how her care operates at both interpersonal and systemic levels.

Stuti’s caregiving extends to reflection and boundaries. She processes personal grief with stillness and intentional pauses, modelling resilience through mindfulness, creative expression, and professional learning. She mentors rising leaders at Wedu and advocates for sexual and reproductive health rights through community campaigns, showing that sustainable care requires presence, vulnerability, and self-compassion.

Why Stuti Stands Out

Stuti demonstrates that leadership through care is transformative. Whether through supporting family, designing programmes for marginalised communities, or preserving cultural legacies, she proves that thoughtful, empathetic action strengthens individuals, communities, and systems alike. Her work reminds us that care is not passive—it is courageous, intentional, and visionary.
